The mAI type exhibition presents the genesis of the project, tracing the journey from traditional creation through the process of integrating artificial intelligence to the final generative outputs. It reveals the evolution of the design process and the connection between traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation.

About the project
The exhibition presents the outcome of an educational project that focused on the design process and tools employed by students of a Typography course in the rapidly evolving landscape of strong, generative AI.
The aim was not so much to pit human skill and imagination against the current possibilities of artificial intelligence in a quest for a “winning” author, but rather to showcase the broad spectrum within which today’s graphic designer can operate—ranging from minimal reliance on digital tools to the maximum assistance now provided by so-called strong artificial intelligence. At every stage of this “mechanization,” however, there remains a need for human creative input. This exhibition attempts to illustrate these moments through sample assignments typical of the field of typography. We deliberately chose assignments that incorporate dimensions deemed symptomatic of human creativity: visual wordplay, metaphors, the use of optical illusions, and the pursuit of self-expression.
An emphasis on the procedural aspect of the discussion surrounding the work of a graphic designer and AI is underscored by interactive elements of the exhibition, as well as planned workshops on calligraphy and AI tools as part of the accompanying program.
